Jack Dehoff, born and raised in Redwood City, started his career in the grocery business in the 1950s, bagging groceries and sorting bottles for Lee Bros., a small local grocery chain. With hard work and determination, he advanced to become a manager and eventually ran several of the chain’s stores, including some under the Key Market name. When the opportunity arose to purchase a store at the corner of Upton and Roosevelt in Redwood City, Jack and Nancy seized it, establishing Dehoff’s Key Market with a focus on premium grain-fed beef, hand-selected produce, honest pricing, and exceptional customer service.
