H-E-B raised $14,000 for seven Central Texas public schools through its Passport Giveback Event at select Williamson County stores, with H-E-B matching the funds generated by customer participation to double the total impact.

During the event, customers received an “H-E-B Passport” featuring destinations across store departments — bakery, beauty, deli, grocery, healthy living, meat market, produce and seafood. As shoppers visited each department, they collected stamps and enjoyed exclusive samples. For every completed passport returned to the store, H-E-B donated $10, up to $1,000 per participating location.
The seven schools receiving proceeds were Bagdad Elementary, Benold Middle School, Camacho Elementary, Florence High School, Plain Elementary, Rancho Sienna Elementary and Santa Rita Middle School. The first 100 participants at each location also received an H-E-B tote bag filled with giveaways.
Students from Florence High School added a community touch to the event at the Parmer Ranch H-E-B in Georgetown, with a performance by the Florence High School Band alongside the school’s cheerleaders and color guard. H-E-Buddy, H-E-B’s mascot, also made an appearance.
Johnny Mojica, public affairs manager for H-E-B, said the format was designed to make community giving feel interactive rather than transactional. “The Passport Giveback Event gives customers and families a fun way to explore their local store while helping raise funds for local schools, students and educators,” Mojica said.
H-E-B operates more than 455 stores across Texas and Mexico and has more than 170,000 employees. The company celebrates its 120th anniversary this year.
