The United Family has broken ground on a new United Supermarkets location in Wolfforth, Texas, marking the company’s first full-size grocery store in the market. The store is slated to open in 2027 and is located in northeast Wolfforth behind the existing United Express fuel station at the corner of Donald Preston Drive and Cambridge Avenue.
“We are thrilled to announce that Wolfforth will be home to our newest United Supermarkets location,” said Sidney Hopper, president of The United Family. “It is always exciting to break ground on a new store, but this one is extra special because we know how excited this community is. We love Wolfforth and our team can’t wait to bring our signature service closer to all our guests in this community.”
The new store will include a full-service pharmacy with drive-through, mobile grocery ordering with pickup and delivery, ReadyMeals, a fresh in-store bakery, full-service floral with delivery, a full-service meat counter, a Starbucks and Taphouse 16. New to this location, guests will also have access to a rentable meeting and event space that seats up to 50 people. The store is expected to add about 200 jobs to the Wolfforth community.
“The groundbreaking for the United Supermarket is a remarkable event for the City of Wolfforth,” said Mayor Charles Addington II. “It starts the final stage of a process that has taken years to complete. The United Family and the City of Wolfforth have worked closely together to develop something that will bring a positive impact to all families in the Wolfforth area.”
“This groundbreaking represents so much more than a new grocery store. It marks a major quality-of-life milestone for Wolfforth,” said Danielle Sweat, executive economic development director for the Wolfforth EDC. “For the first time, our residents will be able to meet their everyday needs right here at home, without leaving the community. We are incredibly grateful to United Supermarkets for believing in Wolfforth and investing in our families.”
