Food Lion Simpsonville

Food Lion will open a new store March 25 at 2321 W. Georgia Road in Simpsonville, South Carolina, marking the brand’s fifth location in the Simpsonville area and its fourth new store opening in the first quarter of 2026.

The opening will be followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The first 100 customers in line will receive a mystery gift card valued up to $200 and a free reusable shopping bag. The store will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Store features

The new location includes a walk-in garden cooler, in-store prepared cut fruit, freshly-made sushi and a self-service wing and hot favorites bar. Shoppers will find ready-to-eat, ready-to-cook and ready-to-heat meal solutions alongside fresh produce, quality meats and a selection of organic, gluten-free and plant-based items under Food Lion’s Nature’s Promise private brand.

Food Lion To Go pickup and home delivery are available through the Food Lion To Go website and app at the same in-store prices. The location also offers self-checkout alongside traditional cashier-assisted checkout.

Mike Strange, the new store’s manager and a 28-year Food Lion veteran who has lived in Simpsonville for two decades, said the opening carries personal significance.

“Our team is excited to welcome neighbors into a store that’s designed to make shopping easy, fresh and affordable. We look forward to serving our neighbors with a shopping experience they can trust,” Strange said.

Hunger relief

Food Lion donated the equivalent of 25,000 meals — through a $2,500 contribution — to Harvest Hope Food Bank in Greenville, South Carolina, in conjunction with the opening. Harvest Hope will also conduct regular food rescue pickups from the store through Food Lion’s ongoing partnership with Feeding America.

Since launching its hunger relief platform Food Lion Feeds in 2014, the retailer has donated the equivalent of more than 1.5 billion meals and has set a goal of 3 billion total by 2032.

Food Lion plans additional new store openings and remodels later in 2026. The omnichannel retailer operates more than 1,100 stores across 10 Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic states and employs more than 82,000 associates.
