H-E-B opened a store Feb. 4 in Forney, Texas, marking the 11th location the San Antonio-based retailer has opened in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex since 2022.

The 139,000-square-foot store at 11700 East U.S. Hwy. 80 joins 10 other H-E-B stores and three Joe V’s Smart Shop locations the retailer has opened in the area. H-E-B also operates six Central Markets in north Texas.

“With our new store in Forney, we’re proud to continue growing and strengthening our presence in the DFW region,” said Juan-Carlos Rück, H-E-B’s EVP of north west food/drug.

“Our dedicated partners are eager to provide a warm, engaging shopping experience for our customers as we grow to serve even more Texans in this vibrant community.”

The new store features a two-story True Texas barbecue restaurant and full-service H-E-B Pharmacy, both with drive-thrus, fuel station with car wash and H-E-B curbside and home delivery with a large curbside parking area.

The bakery offers handmade artisan breads, cakes and tortillas made in-store daily. The deli department includes a large cheese selection and charcuterie island.

Sushiya offers handmade sushi selections made in-store daily and an Asian grill with rice bowls and teriyaki.

H-E-B Meal Simple provides fresh, chef-inspired meals prepared in-store, while Cooking Connection offers live demonstrations and samplings. The produce section includes large organic and Texas-grown selections. The meat market carries Prime, natural and organic meats, Wagyu and fully cooked options.

The store has an extensive craft beer and wine section with a sampling station. The Healthy Living department features bulk food items, sports nutrition products and supplements. The Blooms floral department offers online ordering and delivery service.

The pet department features Heritage Ranch by H-E-B pet food and toys and treats. The Household Essentials department includes Texas Tough brand products, including the Texas Tough value pack with storage bags.

The store design emphasizes environmental sustainability, incorporating energy-efficient features such as CO2 refrigeration units and LED lighting.

H-E-B marked the store’s grand opening with donations totaling $20,000 to local nonprofits. Two gifts of $10,000 each supported Bee Happy, a nonprofit that supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and Children’s Advocacy Center for Kaufman County, an organization that supports children and families impacted by abuse.
