99 Ranch Market plans to open its second location in Las Vegas in the upscale Summerlin neighborhood on Jan. 24. The new 50,000-square-foot store at Boca Park Plaza, located at 820 S. Rampart Blvd., marks the company’s 66th location nationwide, covering 11 states.

According to the company, the opening comes at a strategic time for both 99 Ranch and the community. Since 99 Ranch opened its first Las Vegas store on Spring Mountain Road in 2009, the city’s Asian population and cultural diversity have grown significantly. Summerlin, in particular, has experienced rapid development over the past two decades, mirroring Las Vegas’ broader growth trajectory.

Gateway to Asian cuisine

Founded in 1984 by Taiwanese immigrant Roger Chen, 99 Ranch Market has positioned itself as a destination for authentic Asian ingredients and specialty products. The chain operates under the parent company Tawa Supermarket Inc. in Buena Park, California, and has built its reputation on making Asian cuisine accessible to shoppers of all backgrounds.

The Summerlin location stocks more than 12,000 products spanning East and Southeast Asian cuisines. Key offerings include a meat department featuring Japanese A5 Wagyu beef and thinly sliced meats for hot pot and shabu shabu, along with ready-to-cook Peking duck kits for home chefs. The store also features a live seafood section with lobster, crab and specialty items like Korean marinated crab.

For convenience-focused shoppers, 99 Ranch has expanded its ready-to-eat and meal kit options. An in-store Asian Gourmet Kitchen provides grab-and-go meals and rotating appetizers, while the grocery section includes heat-and-serve solutions like xiao long bao and dumplings. The B/F Bakery Café introduces a new stone-oven flatbread program with Asian-fusion flavors including Kung Pao Chicken and Korean Bulgogi.

Timing the Lunar New Year Market

The store’s opening on Jan. 24 positions it to capture demand ahead of Lunar New Year on Feb. 17, when 99 Ranch typically sees increased traffic. The retailer has stocked traditional ingredients for festive meals, along with gift sets, home décor and seasonal items tied to the Year of the Horse celebrations.

The grand opening weekend will feature a traditional lion dance, a bluefin tuna cutting demonstration, and gift-with-purchase promotions running Jan. 24-25 while supplies last. A media and influencer preview is scheduled for Jan. 23.

Competing on convenience

In addition to its product selection, 99 Ranch differentiates itself through logistics. The company offers free same-day delivery, a service it claims no other Asian grocer provides. The Summerlin location also features free onsite parking and in-store pickup options.

“Las Vegas continues to grow as a vibrant and diverse community, and Summerlin is a wonderful place for us to expand,” said Alice Chen, CEO of Tawa Supermarket. “We’re excited to bring a Pan-Asian shopping experience that celebrates food, culture, and everyday connection while welcoming both longtime customers and new guests to explore Asian cuisine in a fresh and approachable way.”
