Wakefern Food Corp.’s supermarket banners – ShopRite, Price Rite Marketplace, The Fresh Grocer, Dearborn Market, Gourmet Garage and Fairway Market – now accept InComm Healthcare, NationsBenefits and S3 Health Benefit OTC (Over-the-Counter) cards.

OTC benefit cards are prepaid and often provided as a supplemental benefit by Medicare Advantage plans and other insurers to help offset costs for eligible health and wellness products.

Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and other qualified cardholders who receive benefits through InComm Healthcare, NationsBenefits or S3 Health Benefit can present their OTC benefit cards when checking out in-store.

Eligible products vary by provider and may include a variety of healthy foods, medications, vitamins, first aid supplies and personal care items.

“Members of participating health plans can now shop confidently in-store, knowing they can use their OTC benefit cards to purchase the qualified products they need, when they need them most,” said Darren Caudill, chief sales officer of Wakefern Food Corp.

“These programs are a great way to help people access essential products and make healthier choices.”

The amount of funds available and items that qualify can vary based on insurance plan. If customers want to learn more or are unsure whether they qualify for OTC benefits, they can contact their provider or review their evidence of coverage document or summary of benefits.
