The University of Southern California Marshall School of Business Executive Education has named Andrea Dimond, senior director of strategy and development at the Western Association of Food Chains (WAFC), as its next executive director of food industry programs.
Dimond succeeds Cynthia McCloud, who is retiring after 11 years in the position. USC Marshall credited McCloud’s leadership for expanding the reach and reputation of its food industry programming, leaving a legacy of forward-thinking and growth.
“It is my honor to pass the food industry programs baton to a leader who couldn’t be more perfect for this role,” McCloud said. “Andrea is innovative, bold and unafraid to challenge the status quo to spark new thinking. She has the energy, curiosity and courage to take these programs to a level never seen before.”

With more than 25 years of food industry leadership experience spanning sales, distribution, marketing and organizational development, Dimond brings a track record of driving growth and transformation.
At the WAFC, she spearheaded the organization’s first comprehensive strategic plan, directed a rebrand and modernized systems to strengthen program management, scholarship administration and student recruitment.
“We are fortunate to welcome Andrea Dimond to the USC Marshall Executive Education team,” said Tim Blakesly, assistant dean.
“Her deep industry knowledge, transformational leadership style and passion for people make her the ideal successor to Cynthia McCloud. Andrea will ensure our food industry programs continue to inspire, educate and empower the next generation of leaders.”
Dimond’s career also includes senior leadership roles at Dreyer’s Ice Cream (Froneri, formerly Nestlé), MeriCal, Ready Pac Foods (Bonduelle Fresh Americas), Nestlé Direct-Store-Delivery and Nestlé USA. Across these organizations, she built high-performing teams, delivered strong business results and guided large-scale organizational change.
A certified executive coach, she is dedicated to developing leaders and fostering growth-focused cultures.
Dimond has a master’s degree in food industry leadership and a food industry management certificate from USC. Her leadership has garnered multiple awards, and she has served in volunteer and board positions, including with the Illuminators and Network of Executive Women.
Dimond and her husband, Dave, also a food industry professional, share a passion for giving back to the industry that shaped their careers. Together, they enjoy time with their children and grandchildren, as well as hiking, baking and volunteering.
