H-E-B San Antonio College Park

H-E-B held a grand opening Aug. 6 for its College Park store at 7330 N Loop 1604 West in San Antonio, serving communities near the UTSA main campus.

The College Park H-E-B store has features such as H-E-B curbside with covered parking and home delivery, full-service H-E-B pharmacy, True Texas BBQ restaurant with car-side pull up and weekday happy hour specials and a large selection of international foods, including an assortment of Asian and Indian products.

“Along with commitment to top-quality service and selection, our H-E-B partners are excited to serve this dynamic community and our UTSA Roadrunner neighbors,” said Jar Vasquez, College Park H-E-B general manager. “We are excited to provide a quality shopping experience and look forward to serving up the best of H-E-B.”

Other store highlights include:

  • Bakery featuring artisan breads, cakes and its made in-store warm tortillas;
  • Beauty department with a selection of cosmetics and other beauty items;
  • Blooms floral department, offering online ordering and delivery service;
  • Cooking Connection with live demos and samplings for easy recipes to make at home;
  • Deli department with an expansive cheese selection and charcuterie station;
  • Sushiya offering handmade sushi selections made in-store daily and an Asian grill with rice bowls and teriyaki;
  • H-E-B Meal Simple with fresh, convenient chef-inspired meals prepared in store;
  • Produce section with large organic, Texas-grown selections and cold-press juices;
  • Meat market with Prime, natural and organic meats, Wagyu and fully cooked options;
  • An extensive craft beer and wine section;
  • Healthy Living department with bulk food items, sports nutrition products, supplements and fresh ground nut butters;
  • Texas Backyard department, featuring plants, pottery, grills and outdoor essentials; and
  • Pet department featuring Heritage Ranch by H-E-B pet food, as well as toys and treats.

Inside and out, H-E-B designed the store to reflect the character of the neighborhood. The location incorporates environmental sustainability design elements and several energy efficient inclusions such as CO2 refrigeration units, LED lighting and extensive native landscaping throughout the property.

The grocer commemorated the store’s grand opening with $15,000 going to support organizations affiliated with UTSA. The UTSA Student Indian Association, the UTSA Student Cultural Association and the UTSA Student Emergency Fund each received $5,000 gifts.

H-E-B is a multi-format retailer, which operates its Central Market and Joe V’s Smart Shop stores throughout Texas, as well as Mi Tienda stores in Houston. H-E-B also owns Favor Delivery, a delivery service that serves cities across the state.
