Brookshire Grocery Co. has begun a partnership with Afresh to deploy its store ordering and inventory management solutions across the deli, produce and market (meat and seafood) departments at four of its banners – Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, FRESH by Brookshire’s and Spring Market.

Brookshire selected Afresh for its built-for-fresh technology that uses artificial intelligence to address the complexities of perishable products, such as variable demand, short shelf life and complex data.

The solution equips store teams with tools that streamline forecasting, ordering and inventory management while reducing waste, improving in-stock conditions, delivering fresher food and driving measurable results.

With Afresh, Brookshire Grocery Co. is modernizing its fresh operations, moving away from static, legacy ordering systems to a faster, more connected digital experience.

The transition gives store teams quicker access to product availability data and enables more localized assortment decisions tailored to each store’s customer base. Smarter, automated order recommendations help improve in-stock accuracy, reduce shrink and boost freshness and efficiency.

“At Brookshire Grocery Co., we are deeply committed to delivering the freshest, highest-quality products to our customers,” said Brad Brookshire, chairman and CEO.

“Partnering with Afresh allows us to harness the power of AI to elevate our fresh departments and ensure smarter, more efficient operations across our stores. This collaboration is a huge step forward in our journey to innovate the fresh supply chain and enhance the shopping experience for every customer we serve.”

Afresh’s core technology helps grocers navigate the difficulties of fresh, such as changing product shelf life, sales velocity, price elasticity, shifting display sizes, seasonality and data quality to achieve fresher food, happier customers and healthier fresh businesses.

“Brookshire Grocery Co. has a deep-rooted commitment to its customers and communities, and we are proud to partner with them to enhance their fresh operations,” said Afresh CEO Matt Schwartz.

“Afresh is designed to tackle the unique challenges of fresh grocery, empowering grocers with AI to help them significantly reduce shrink, boost profitability, improve operational efficiency and elevate the shopper experience.”
