Abingdon, Virginia-based Food City debuted a new 56,000-square-foot store July 9 at 10210 Memorial Pkwy. NE in Huntsville, Alabama.

This is the fourth of six locations planned for the market, following the third that opened June 4 on Governors Drive.

“Our first three Huntsville locations have been very well received, and we’re excited to open our fourth store on Memorial Parkway to better serve the residents of Huntsville and Madison County,” said Steven C. Smith, Food City president and CEO.

The location includes an in-store bakery and deli with a hot food bar, large café seating area and fireplace. It also features an Asian wok, fresh food bar offering a variety of soup, salad and fruit selections, hickory wood smoker, pizza oven, fresh sushi and a wine tasting station.

The full-service meat and seafood departments offer quality meats, including Certified Angus Beef, and in-house butchers to cut steaks and fresh meat to order.

Expanded grocery, frozen food and produce departments go beyond the traditional fare with a large selection of specialty, gourmet and vegan items.

The Food City Floral Boutique, staffed with a designer seven days a week, offers a full assortment of fresh-cut floral arrangements, bouquets and gift items.

The store also includes a Food City pharmacy with a drive-thru, Food City Gas N’ Go featuring top quality fuel/diesel, a Starbucks cafe offering an assortment of blended hot/cold coffees and beverages and a Family Savings Credit Union branch.

Curbside pick-up and home delivery are available for customers wishing to shop on-line.

The location also features several energy-saving concepts, ranging from energy-efficient glass cooler doors, parking lot lights and refrigeration systems to motion sensors and 100 percent LED lighting.

“Our customers can expect to find exceptional customer service and top-quality products at the lowest possible prices, along with great variety/selection and some exciting services and conveniences,” Smith said.
