Certco Inc. EVP Justyne Uribe has been promoted to take on an expanded role as EVP of marketing and merchandising, according to an announcement from President and CEO Amy Niemetscheck. She began her new duties June 1.

“It has become transparent that we need to be showing cohesive efforts in driving brand growth with our supplier community and customer engagement at our retailers,” Niemetscheck said. “Having overall responsibility of these areas will drive the best results for the Certco Inc. member owners.”

Certco is aligning the retail advertising and marketing department with a director role that will be under Uribe’s oversight. Procurement and category management are the other pillars Uribe will lead.

Uribe will be responsible for strategic planning, team leadership, campaign execution, market analysis, budget management and cross-department collaboration, especially with the Certco sales team.

“Justyne has proven herself to be a vital role on our senior leadership team,” Niemetscheck said. “I’m confident in her abilities to align merchandising programs with our supplier partners and provide marketing support for our retailer’s to be competitive now and into the future, while capitalizing on all funds our independent grocery owners deserve to have in their toolbox.
