Price Rite Marketplace will mark its 30th anniversary in June with special promotions and events.
Starting May 30, the grocer is launching promotions on produce, specialty meats and everyday essentials in-store and online. Also planned are in-store celebrations, including vendor demonstrations and employee appreciation cookouts at all locations.
Price Rite Marketplace, which opened its first store in 1995 under the name Price Rite Supermarkets, operates 53 grocery stores in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
“This anniversary is not just a celebration of our past – it’s a celebration of our future and the people who make Price Rite what it is today – our dedicated team members, loyal customers and community partners,” said Kevin McDonnell, president.
“For three decades, we’ve worked to create a shopping experience where value meets quality, and where every customer can feel at home. But equally important is the role we play in our communities. Whether it’s providing food and essentials through the annual Feeding Minds & Bodies program, or raising funds for local food banks with our Check-Out Hunger initiative, we’re committed to being more than a grocery store – we’re a community partner.”
In addition, Price Rite will host its next Feeding Minds & Bodies event June 10 at the store in West Springfield, Massachusetts – the company’s original location. This event is part of the brand’s 10-year partnership with Feed the Children.
Together, Price Rite and Feeding Minds & Bodies have provided more than 130,000 meals and reached more than 228,000 people across the Northeast since the program’s inception. In total, Price Rite Marketplace and Feed the Children have donated more than $14 million in food and essentials through 76 community events.
Price Rite’s 30th anniversary also comes on the heels of a Check-Out Hunger campaign. This year, Price Rite stores raised more than $23,000 to support regional food banks. Since launching the program in 2002, the retailer has raised more than $2 million to help combat food insecurity.
