Young American Food Brands, operating under the brand label Miami Beef, has bought Best Provision, a New Jersey-based company that makes premium smoked and cooked meats.

This acquisition, the fourth for Young American since 2022, strategically integrates Best Provision’s established customer base and product line, which includes a variety of premium smoked meats such as smoked beef franks, roast beef, pastrami, corned beef, beef bacon, bologna and other specialty items.

For more than 80 years, Best Provision has specialized in producing quality beef products, particularly its premium smoked meat products. Best’s products are well-known in the Metro New York area, the birthplace of the American “deli” culture, where customers appreciate quality premium smoked meats.

“Best has built strong ties with its community, employees and customers – relationships we’re committed to preserving and growing through continued investment in its Newark, NJ facility,” stated Robert Young, CEO of Young American.

The acquisition extends Young American’s capabilities into fully cooked premium smoked meats like pastrami and roast beef, complementing its current lineup of hot dogs, sausages and burgers under the Free Graze, Miami Beef, Brooklyn Burger and Hofmann brands.

“With the Newark plant just four hours from our Syracuse facility, this acquisition enhances our strategic footprint and adds valuable capacity to support our growing product line, including our expanding selection of premium smoked meats,” Young added.

Best Provision also will play a key role in developing better-for-you offerings, including grass-fed cooked products, supporting the growing consumer demand for quality protein offerings, including healthier options within the premium smoked meats category.

In addition, Young American plans to leverage Best’s smoking capabilities to enter the smoked snack and smoked beef segments, further enhancing its premium product lineup, which will include a broader range of premium smoked meats alongside the recently launched Wagyu sausages and brisket burgers.
