The grand re-opening of the new Ball’s Price Chopper store in Waldo, an urban neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri, was held on Dec. 8. The official ribbon cutting and celebration followed brief remarks from David Ball, Ball’s Food Store president.
The store is located at 8430 Wornall Road.
The original Waldo store was significantly remodeled and upgraded and includes expanded grocery offerings and services for the community. It is approximately 37,000 square feet and includes new shelving and refrigeration cases, new HVAC systems, energy-efficient lighting and refrigeration equipment
In addition, there are expansions to the bakery, deli and produce departments, as well as self-checkouts, fresh meat and seafood offerings, a larger liquor department, an expanded pharmacy, and a larger collection of grocery and non-food items throughout the store.
Price Chopper’s 52 Kansas City stores are locally owned by the Ball, Cosentino, McKeever and Queen families, all of whom live in Kansas City and oversee store operations on a daily basis.
