Fortune has named Publix one of the Best Workplaces for Women, ranking it No. 11 out of 100 companies on the 2019 list, moving up from No. 29 in 2018.
In a survey conducted by Great Place to Work, women were asked about experiences in their workplace based on their ability to reach their full potential and how their gender shapes experiences in the workplace. Great Place to Work then analyzed trends based on an organization’s size, industry and region.
Based in Lakeland, Florida, Publix is privately owned and operated by its more than 200,000 employees, with 2018 sales of $36.1 billion. Currently, Publix has 1,227 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. For 22 consecutive years, it has been named one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For, and Publix ranked No. 1 on Fortune’s inaugural list of Best Big Companies to Work For in 2019.
