Rouses Markets celebrated the opening of its 63rd store May 31, as 300 customers lined up at 7 a.m. to enter the new Daphne, Alabama, location.
The 53,000-s.f. store is the company’s eighth in lower Alabama.
The emphasis is on fresh. There’s a full-service bakery, butcher shop, floral department and seafood market, along with farmers-market arrays of seasonal and local produce, plus more than 100 organic fresh fruits and vegetables. It also features the largest selection of wine, beer and imported and domestic cheeses on the Gulf Coast.
The new Rouses Markets store offers a selection of prepared foods, including a poke bowl station and Mongolian Grill with made-to-order stir-fries, expected to exceed customers’ expectations.
The store is located at 3075 Highway 98 in Daphne.
Rouses was founded by the late Anthony J. Rouse Sr. in 1960. Donny Rouse is the third generation to lead the family-owned chain, which is one of the largest independents in the country. Rouses Markets has stores in Louisiana, along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Lower Alabama.
