Green Giant, based in Parsippany, New Jersey, has launched Harvest Protein Bowls. The bowls are plant-forward meals made with vegetables and whole grains. Each variety offers 12-14g of protein and includes whole grains such as quinoa, lentils or ancient grains. The bowls are vegetarian and go from the freezer to table in under 6 minutes.
The bowls are a convenient way for consumers to get a fast meal that is a source of protein with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, the company says.
“Because Green Giant is a major force in the frozen veggies category, we have been flooded with requests from families to create a simple, frozen-meal solution that helps consumers increase their protein consumption while using our popular vegetables as a base,” said Jordan Greenberg, VP and GM of Green Giant. “Green Giant Harvest Protein Bowls offer Green Giant fans a simple and delicious meal that are a good source of protein—and are ideal for a quick, nutritious lunch at the office, snack or dinner on-the-go.”
The line of bowls comes in four varieties: California Style, Asian Style, Southwest Style and Italian Style. They are available in the frozen food aisle of major grocery retailers nationwide; SRP $3.99.
Green Giant has been introducing new products for more than 100 years. Among its latest launches is its Veggie Swap-Ins line, which includes Riced Veggies, Veggie Tots, Mashed Cauliflower and Veggie Spirals.
