French yogurt brand La Fermière launched a newly designed terracotta pot on April 6 that will be available for a limited time at partner retail stores.

The pots were designed by Alex Alpert, a visual artist and creative director living in New York City who has done work for companies such as American Express, Nike, Red Bull, Formula 1 and Chelsea FC (Football Club), according to his Instagram account. He is described as a “stream of consciousness illustrator,” known for free-flowing lines and detailed shading.

“I actually discovered La Fermière in my mother-in-law’s kitchen – she collects the pots,” Alpert said. “I was immediately drawn to the terracotta container and the care behind it. As an artist, I’m fascinated by objects that combine beauty and function, and that’s exactly what La Fermière does. This collaboration was about bringing the energy and visual language of New York City onto something that already feels like a small piece of art.”

NY’s cultural landscape featured

This limited-edition terracotta pots feature designs inspired by New York City’s cultural landscape. La Fermière’s core flavors –  including Vanilla Bean, Pressed Lemon, Orange Blossom Honey, Matcha Lime, Jasmine, Lavender and Rose – will be featured in the limited-time containers.

They are sold in retailers including Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, Wegmans, Target, Erewhon and The Fresh Market, retailing for $3.49.

New York City was the first place in the U.S. that La Fermière yogurt became available nearly 10 years ago. Developed in Provence, France, in 1952, the brand’s yogurts and desserts are made with “all-natural and carefully sourced ingredients” such as local milk and cream, the company says.
