Lindsay Olives rolled out a new line of Latin-inspired olive flavors to appeal to grocery shoppers seeking global flavors.

The new jarred olives, launched in mid-March, feature the flavors of Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean, the company says. The varieties are Sofrito Style, Pimiento Picantito and Escabeche Style.

Sofrito Style is “savory, garlicky and full of sazón,” not spicy, the company says.

Pimiento Picantito features a “hint of mild paprika heat.”

The Escabeche Style olives are complemented by peppers, garlic and carrots; the heat level is medium.

The olives were designed for snacking, cooking and/or entertaining.

“Our olives have delivered bold, unforgettable taste for over 100 years,” says Scott McCoy, VP at Bell-Carter Foods, the Walnut Creek, California-based owner of the Lindsay brand.

“This new lineup explores vibrant global flavors that consumers are craving, and this launch is just the beginning of how we’ll keep reimagining what olives can be with innovative, globally inspired flavors.”

Albertsons the start of retail distribution

The new line is available at select Albertsons locations across the U.S. for a suggested retail price of $2.99. Expansion to other retailers and markets is planned.

Founded in 1912, Bell-Carter Foods is one of the largest table olive producers in the U.S. and the largest in the world.

Family-owned and operated for more than 100 years, Bell-Carter has nearly 200 employees between its Walnut Creek headquarters and production facility in Corning, California. The company sells and markets domestic olives, imported olives and olive-related specialty products under the Bell-Carter Foods, private label and Lindsay brand names.
