Harris Teeter has been recognized by Newsweek as one of “America’s Most Trustworthy Companies” for 2026.

The recognition covers 700 companies across 23 industries and is based on an independent survey of 25,000 U.S. respondents producing more than 100,000 evaluations, plus online media sentiment.

“We believe trust is earned, and we honor it every day by showing up for our shoppers, supporting our associates, and serving our communities fresh and high-quality ingredients at an exceptional value,” said Danna Robinson, director of corporate affairs and customer relations.

Robinson credited the company’s 36,000 associates for driving the recognition.

“We have our associates to thank for building a culture of trust among our shoppers,” Robinson said. “Whether its questions about an item’s location, advice on what cut of meat to get, or concerns about their prescription, Harris Teeter associates are here through it all.”

The ranking was developed by Newsweek in partnership with Statista and assessed companies based on three key pillars of trust: customer trust, investor trust and employee trust.

The Newsweek honor adds to a growing list of workplace recognitions for Harris Teeter. Earlier this year, the retailer was also recognized by Newsweek as one of “America’s Greatest Workplaces for Culture, Belonging & Community” for 2026, based on an evaluation of more than 2.7 million company reviews.

Harris Teeter, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Kroger Co., operates more than 250 stores and 85 fuel centers across North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Maryland, Delaware and Florida. The chain has been in operation for more than 60 years.
