Volunteer registration is open for the 12th Annual Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give, scheduled for June 18-21 at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, Michigan.

The tournament is seeking more than 1,400 volunteers to support the event, which combines LPGA Tour competition with hunger relief fundraising through Meijer’s Simply Give program.

Volunteers can register at meijerlpgaclassic.com. The fee to volunteer is $30 and includes tournament shirts, a hat or visor, an event pin, four weekly grounds passes for guests, a parking pass and complimentary meals and beverages during scheduled shifts.

Roles available

Volunteer positions include walking scorers, hole marshals, Discovery Land support and hospitality attendants. Volunteers open to any on-course experience can select the General Volunteer position and be directed to where help is needed upon arrival. Committees and shift times are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cathy Cooper, executive director of the Meijer LPGA Classic, said volunteers are central to both the tournament experience and its community mission.

“Their dedication and teamwork each year help us create a memorable experience for fans and players alike, while furthering our mission of supporting the Simply Give hunger relief program. We look forward to welcoming both new and returning volunteers for another incredible event,” Cooper said.

$13 million and counting

Since the tournament launched in 2014, the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give has generated more than $13 million to support food pantries across the Midwest. The event features 144 of the world’s top LPGA Tour players competing in a four-day, 72-hole stroke play format at Blythefield, a historic course north of Grand Rapids where Arnold Palmer won the 1961 Western Open.

Meijer operates more than 500 supercenters, Meijer Grocery, neighborhood market and Express locations across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin.
