Lowes Foods in Johns Island, South Carolina

Lowes Foods opened a new store March 12 on Johns Island, South Carolina, expanding its Charleston market footprint to five locations.

The store at 3575 Maybank Highway occupies a building that formerly housed a KJ’s Market and which underwent extensive renovations before the transition.

The Johns Island location features Lowes Foods’ signature “Originals” – specialized in-store departments and experiences unique to the banner – which were unveiled on opening morning.

As part of grand-opening festivities, a S’mores wagon was stationed at the store throughout the weekend of March 13.

Lowes Foods President Tim Lowe heralded the opening.

“We appreciate the patience of our guests during the past few months as we worked to transition the store to a Lowes Foods,” he said.

“We look forward to welcoming the entire community to what will be an incredible, locally focused shopping experience for Johns Island residents, as well as the Kiawah and Seabrook Island communities.”
