Allie B’s Mac & Cheese

Market 32 and Price Chopper announced that Allie B’s Mac & Cheese has expanded to 120 of its stores across six Northeastern states, one year after debuting in 21 Albany, New York-area locations.

More than 34,000 pounds of the product were shipped in the first year to meet customer demand.

The gourmet mac and cheese is now available in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont through the grocer’s Foodfare prepared foods department.

From 21 stores to a regional brand

The product was created by Kizzy Williams, owner and head chef of Allie B’s Cozy Kitchen in Albany, New York. It was the first item admitted into Market 32 and Price Chopper’s home.grown. initiative, which spotlights locally produced and sourced products.

The recipe is the same one that earned top honors at the annual Mac & Cheese Bowl in 2024 and built a following at Williams’ Clinton Avenue restaurant.

Blaine Bringhurst, president of Market 32 and Price Chopper, said the product’s trajectory reflects what shoppers are increasingly seeking in prepared foods.

“Customers are looking for food that feels special, crafted with care, and rooted in authenticity,” he said. “Allie B’s Mac & Cheese delivers on all of that and the response over the past year has been outstanding.”

Family legacy behind the recipe

Williams’ brand traces its origins to her mother, Allie Bee Bethea, who brought Southern recipes from South Carolina to Harlem in the 1960s.

Williams has carried that culinary legacy into the Capital Region and, through the Market 32 and Price Chopper partnership, into households across the Northeast. Fighting food insecurity is a core part of her mission alongside the business.

“What began as a local favorite is now reaching households across six states, and we’re deeply grateful for the trust families are placing in our brand. It is proof that food made with love truly connects people,” Williams said.

She added that the retail partnership has allowed her to scale without compromising the product. “Food has always been my love language, and to see the mac and cheese we serve in our restaurant reach even more families across the Northeast is truly humbling.”

Available in multiple formats

Allie B’s Mac & Cheese is sold in hot grab-and-go and cold take-and-heat containers, at the hot buffet and through online catering orders.

In-store sampling events with Williams are planned at select locations; dates and times will be posted on the Market 32 and Price Chopper Facebook page.

Market 32 and Price Chopper operate 128 supermarkets with 15,500 employees across their six-state footprint. The Golub family-founded company has been based in Schenectady since 1932.
