Natural Grocers is planning for a new store in downtown Walla Walla, Washington, this spring, marking the family-operated chain’s sixth location in the state and its first in the Walla Walla Valley.
The company is hosting a community meet-and-greet on March 24 and a two-day hiring event March 25-26 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Walla Walla ahead of the opening.
The meet-and-greet runs from 4-6 p.m. on March 24, with a presentation and Q&A session for residents interested in learning about the company’s history and values. The hiring event follows on March 25-26, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at the same location at 550 W. Rose St. — about five minutes from the new store.
The new location will bring roughly a dozen position types to the community, with wages ranging from $17.50 per hour for cashiers to $24.50 per hour for Nutritional Health Coaches. Manager-level roles — including produce, grocery/bulk, vitamin, dairy/frozen and body care – pay $21.50 per hour. Candidates can apply at naturalgrocers.com or text ‘GROW’ to 720-573-2153.
The store will carry Natural Grocers’ full standard assortment: 100 percent certified organic produce, 100 percent free-range eggs, pasture-raised dairy, non-GMO prepackaged bulk goods and humanely sourced meats. All products must meet the company’s strict standards excluding artificial flavors, preservatives, synthetic colors and hydrogenated oils.
Natural Grocers also offers free science-based Nutrition Education programs in every store — a differentiator the company has emphasized since its founding in 1955.
More details on the grand opening date will be announced as the opening approaches.
