Natural Grocers is running a four-day promotional event tied to the start of daylight saving time, offering discounts, wellness resources and in-store sweepstakes at participating locations March 7-10.
The “Spring Forward Into Even More Affordable Prices” event targets the sleep and energy disruption many consumers experience with the time change, pairing limited-time deals with educational resources on sleep and nutrition.
“Losing an hour can throw off more than just our schedules,” said Raquel Isely, VP of marketing at Natural Grocers.
“Our Spring Forward event is about meeting customers where they are, with simple ways to support energy, sleep and everyday wellness during a transition that affects so many of us. It’s one more way we help make healthy living easier, more affordable and a little more enjoyable.”
Deals and discounts
{N}power loyalty members can access discounts of up to 45 percent on select items during the “Spring Forward” event window. Featured products include Natrol Melatonin 3 mg Time Release at $8.99 for 100 tablets, Yachak Organic Yerba Mate Energy Drinks at $1.69 each and Perfect Food Bars at $13.19 for an 8-count. Members also receive 20 percent off all packaged coffee and teas through a mobile app coupon, plus a buy-two-get-one offer on single-serve beverages, yogurts and nutrition bars.
Broader storewide discounts across all departments run through March 21 for all customers.
In-store activations
On March 7, select stores will host a free pop-up coffee bar from 10 a.m.-noon, offering samples of Natural Grocers Brand Coffee alongside what the company calls “coffee hacks” — drinks incorporating MCT oil, pasture-based butter, spices and sweeteners.
Customers can also enter a sweepstakes in-store March 7-10. One winner per store receives free coffee for a year, valued at $150. A single grand prize winner receives a weekend trip for two to Scottsdale, Arizona. The company noted Arizona’s status as one of the few states that does not observe daylight saving time.
Wellness positioning
Natural Grocers is using the event to promote its free in-store Nutritional Health Coaching services alongside sleep- and energy-focused recipes available on its website. The company is also running a petition to end daylight saving time, framing the practice as a public health concern and citing research linking the time change to elevated risks of heart attacks, accidents and sleep disruption.
The “Spring Forward” event reflects a broader strategy by Natural Grocers to tie promotional activity to wellness themes, using timely cultural moments to drive both foot traffic and loyalty program engagement.
