H-E-B has begun a major remodel and expansion of its 83 and Lincoln store in Harlingen, Texas, bringing significant upgrades that will modernize, refresh and expand services for customers.
The project represents a substantial investment in the community and reaffirms the grocer’s commitment to the Rio Grande Valley.
Located at 613 S. Expressway 83, the store opened 1990. As part of the remodel, every department will be expanded, increasing the total size to nearly 112,000 square feet. Renovations are under way and expected to be completed in early 2027.
Major upgrades include new restaurant, wellness clinic
Major upgrades will include expanded departments across the store, a larger and more diverse product assortment, refreshed and modernized exterior and expanded H-E-B Curbside area with additional parking.
The remodel will add Flaming Bird Restaurant, offering fresh, bold and convenient hot-food options. The store also will feature H-E-B Wellness Primary Care, providing accessible, high-quality health and wellness services in-store.

“This transformation will take time, but the result will be a fresh, welcoming store built with our customers and community at heart.”
The store will remain operational throughout the renovation. Additional updates will be shared as the project progresses.
H-E-B operates more than 455 stores in Texas and Mexico with some 175,000 employees.
