Lidl U.S. will open a new store Feb. 4 at 545 US-46 in Totowa, New Jersey, expanding the discount grocer’s growing presence in the state.
The store will welcome customers at sunrise with a ribbon-cutting ceremony beginning at 7:40 a.m. The grand opening will feature freshly baked croissants and coffee.
The Totowa location will feature Lidl’s curated collection of private label products, global imports and everyday name brands. The store will offer imported cheeses, fresh meats and seafood, and authentic specialty items including sauces and cured meats.
Promotional programs
Lidl U.S. has restructured its promotional calendar to include three key programs:
- Wednesday Weekly Deals feature refreshed discounts across fresh produce, pantry staples and other items. New deals drop every Wednesday.
- Weekend Super Sale offers six limited-time deals available Friday through Sunday only.
- Monday Must-Haves presents new items at promotional prices, ranging from kitchen gadgets to home décor, fitness gear and seasonal products. The program also includes limited-time food items such as Favorina holiday treats and Italiamo Italian products.
The store will feature freshly baked breads and pastries refilled throughout the day, along with an easy-to-shop layout designed for faster, more convenient shopping.
Digital and Product Offerings
The MyLidl app provides exclusive app-only deals, including a welcome coupon and Super Shopper rewards program. The retailer backs its products with the Lidl Love It Guarantee, offering customers a refund and replacement if they’re not satisfied with any purchase.
Featured products at the Totowa location include:
- The 49 Cent Croissant, flown in from Europe and baked fresh daily in stores.
- Special Guest bakery program introduces four new baked goods monthly based on seasonal trends and unique items, available while supplies last. The Totowa opening will feature Birthday Cake Pop, Cinnamon Raisin Bagel, Crispy Rice Treat and PB&J Cookie.
- Butcher’s Specialty private label meat brand offers beef, chicken, pork, lamb and veal, with options including USDA Choice beef, organic beef, grass-fed beef, antibiotic-free chicken and all-natural pork.
- Preferred Selection Pizza, imported from Europe, features flavors including Truffle Oil & Mushroom, 5 Cheese & Chutney and Margherita.
- Bon Gelati Mini Mix Ice Cream Bars, a Lidl-exclusive pack with 12 bars and four flavors: milk chocolate, almond, white chocolate and dark chocolate.
- Lidl Preferred Selection Parmigiano Reggiano, an authentic Italian cheese aged 24 months.
- Lidl Preferred Selection Prosciutto, premium thinly sliced prosciutto for charcuterie boards and sandwiches.
