Meijer has launched a virtual healthcare service through a partnership with WellSync, allowing customers to access treatment for common health conditions from home for $29.99 per visit with no insurance required.
Customers can receive care for cold, flu, allergies, hair loss and other everyday health concerns through board-certified healthcare professionals through the Meijer website, pharmacy app or by texting “Care” to 75049.
“We’re focused on making healthcare simple and convenient for our customers,” said Don Sanderson, chief merchandising and marketing officer for the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based retailer.
“As a one-stop shop, this new virtual care option helps our customers stay healthy year-round.”
Removing healthcare access barriers
The virtual care platform aims to eliminate obstacles for customers who struggle with traditional healthcare access due to busy schedules, transportation challenges or other limitations.
Virtual visits connect patients with licensed providers for treatment of common conditions without requiring in-person appointments. The $29.99 flat-rate pricing structure provides predictable costs for customers seeking care without insurance coverage.
Customers can access WellSync through multiple channels. The service is available online through its website, by selecting Virtual Care through the Meijer app by navigating to Pharmacy and tapping the Virtual Care tile, or through text message.
The WellSync partnership expands Meijer’s healthcare offerings beyond pharmacy services. The Midwest retailer operates more than 500 supercenters, grocery stores, neighborhood markets and express locations across Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin.
