Walmart opened its first Eastvale Supercenter at 14100 Limonite Ave., marking the retailer’s entry into one of California’s fastest-growing communities. The 170,000-square-foot store held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. before welcoming customers at 8 a.m.
The opening brings approximately 300 jobs to the Inland Empire city, which has seen rapid population growth in recent years. The location represents Walmart’s Store of the Future concept, featuring expanded departments, digital tools and flexible fulfillment options designed to serve both residents and commuters.
“As Eastvale continues to grow, we’re proud to grow with it — supporting local families, creating jobs and serving as a trusted retail destination for years to come,” said Jesse Gonzales, store manager of the Eastvale Walmart Supercenter.
“Eastvale’s central location makes it an ideal place for us to serve residents and commuters across the Inland Empire, bringing new jobs, faster delivery and greater access to a wide assortment of essentials families rely on every day.”
Modern format, digital integration
The store features a reimagined layout with expanded home and apparel sections. Digital shelf labels, QR codes and interactive touchpoints aim to streamline the in-store experience. The location offers delivery in as little as one hour, including prescriptions, alongside curbside pickup options.
The pharmacy includes a clinical services room and offers hundreds of prescriptions through Walmart’s $4 Prescription Program. The store also houses a Vision Center and a fuel station.
Associates have access to Walmart’s Live Better U program, which provides company-paid skills certificates and college degrees. The program is part of the retailer’s broader effort to create career pathways beyond entry-level positions.
Community investment
Walmart distributed community grants at the grand opening to organizations serving Eastvale and the surrounding Inland Empire. The grants target safety, health, youth and family programs.
The Eastvale opening comes as Walmart remodels 11 stores across Southern California, including five in the Inland Empire. Those remodels include stores in Upland, Moreno Valley, Jurupa Valley and Barstow. Updates will bring improved signage, expanded departments and enhanced pickup and delivery capabilities.
The retailer broke ground on the Eastvale location in March 2024. The store is part of Walmart’s broader plan to build or convert more than 150 stores and complete additional remodels by 2029.
Walmart operates 303 stores and 21 distribution hubs in California, employing 104,500 associates statewide. The company reported $179.5 billion in revenue for the third quarter of fiscal 2026, which ended Oct. 31, with e-commerce representing a growing share of sales.
