Hannaford Supermarkets completed upgrades at seven locations across the Northeast during the second half of 2025 in an effort to enhance the customer shopping experience and maximize energy efficiency at its stores.
Remodels were completed at stores in Maine, New Hampshire and New York between August and December. The projects focused on enhancing customer convenience, including the addition of self-checkout registers and the installation of private pharmacy consultation rooms.
In line with Hannaford’s position as an industry leader in sustainability, the remodels also incorporated new features that increase the store’s energy efficiency and reduce its carbon emissions, including the installation of new carbon dioxide refrigeration systems and electric cooking equipment.

The upgraded Hannaford stores and their features include: 
• Kingston Ulster Avenue Hannaford in Kingston, New York, now features a larger variety of fresh, organic and local products, new meat and seafood displays, elevated sushi and fine cheese offerings, a wider array of hot prepared foods and enhancements to the full-service pharmacy.
• Jay Hannaford in Jay, Maine, now offers a larger variety of fresh and local products with enhancements to its full-service pharmacy and expanded grab-and-go meal options.
• Delmar Hannaford in Delmar, New York, now features a larger variety of fresh and local products, additional dairy and frozen selections, expanded grab-and-go meal options and the addition of new self-checkout registers.
• Londonderry Hannaford in Londonderry, New Hampshire, now offers more grab-and-go meal options, expanded meat, seafood and produce sections, elevated sushi and fine cheese offerings, a wider array of hot prepared foods and enhancements to the full-service pharmacy.
• Rindge Hannaford in Rindge, New Hampshire, now offers a larger variety of grab-and-go meal options, including elevated sushi and fresh-made pizza, expanded meat, seafood and deli sections and a wider array of local products. The remodel also includes enhancements to the full-service pharmacy and the addition of new self-checkout registers. 
• Voorheesville Hannaford in Voorheesville, New York, now features more grab-and-go meals, an expanded deli with meal solutions and a wider array of frozen products.
• Plattsburgh Hannaford in Plattsburgh, New York, now features more grab-and-go meals, expanded meat, seafood and produce sections, elevated sushi offerings and a wider array of hot prepared foods. The remodel also includes enhancements to the full-service pharmacy and the addition of new self-checkout registers.
In recognition of Hannaford’s commitment to the communities it serves, each remodel was commemorated with donations to local nonprofits, resulting in a total of $33,000 in charitable giving to initiatives focused on increasing access to food, supporting youth development and helping people live healthier lives.
Hannaford Supermarkets operates 189 stores in the Northeast, most with full-service pharmacies. Stores are located in Maine, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont. The company diverts or donates all food at risk of going to waste, sending no food to landfills. In 2024, Hannaford donated 27.5 million pounds of food to hunger-relief organizations.
