Southeastern Grocers (SEG), parent company of Harveys Supermarket and Winn-Dixie, is closing its centennial year reflecting on a milestone period marked by community investment, industry recognition and strategic progress as the company looks ahead to its next chapter.
Throughout 2025, SEG and the SEG Gives Foundation reported more than $2.8 million in charitable contributions, supporting initiatives focused on hunger relief, disaster response, education and health across the Southeast. Food donations and financial support directed to Feeding America and local hunger-relief partners totaled nearly $700,000, complemented by holiday donation bag programs that raised close to $200,000. The grocer also participated in 25 mobile food pantry events, expanding access to food in underserved communities.
Beyond hunger initiatives, SEG supported a wide range of organizations, including the American Red Cross, Folds of Honor, American Heart Association, Boys & Girls Clubs, pediatric hospitals and other local nonprofits, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to neighborhood engagement.
The centennial year also brought notable industry recognition. SEG earned 69 national awards across categories including product quality, value and customer experience. Its loyalty program was recognized by USA Today and Newsweek among the nation’s top grocery rewards programs, while the company’s own-brand portfolio – spanning nearly 8,000 items – received multiple honors for quality and value.
Anthony Hucker, SEG’s chairman and CEO, said the centennial year represented a celebration and a foundation for the future, noting the company’s enduring focus on serving customers and communities while evolving to meet changing needs.
Operationally, SEG advanced its retail strategy with continued investments in store upgrades and expansion. During the year, the company unveiled a newly remodeled store in St. Cloud, Florida, and opened a new Winn-Dixie location in Williston, Florida, marking its first new Florida store opening in several years.
As it transitions beyond its 100th year, SEG is preparing to operate under a unified banner as The Winn-Dixie Company, a move the grocer says will reinforce brand clarity while maintaining its emphasis on quality, value and community connection throughout Florida and southern Georgia.
