Food City recently made a series of donations and check presentations to local food banks, nonprofits and holiday outreach programs throughout its multi-state footprint.
Food City and Dietz & Watson partnered to support the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, delivering more than a ton of premium deli meats and a $2,250 check in support of the charity’s hunger-relief work as part of the eighth annual “Families Helping Families” program.
A similar donation went to the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee that same week, with Food City and Dietz & Watson providing a comparable contribution of deli meats and financial support to assist with meal-distribution efforts.
On Dec. 12, Food City continued its seasonal giving with a $54,396 check presentation to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, raised through the retailer’s Share Your Christmas holiday campaign. The initiative is designed to extend additional resources to local food pantries and programs.
The activities are part of Food City’s broader community strategy, which includes programs such as the Race Against Hunger holiday campaign and ongoing fundraising at checkout for nonprofits.

In addition, Food City presented a $15,000 check to support Wreaths Across Chattanooga, along with delivering more than 31,000 wreaths to the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The event drew volunteers including Food City associates and family members to honor veterans and fallen service members.
