RELEX Solutions, a provider of unified AI-driven supply chain and retail planning software, has acquired Ida, a Paris-based SaaS developer of AI-native fresh replenishment and store ordering optimization technology.

The acquisition enhances RELEX’s platform with new capabilities aimed at improving fresh and ultra-fresh category planning for grocery retailers worldwide.

Ida’s software focuses on replenishment and ordering optimization for loosely weighted fresh products such as fruit, vegetables, bakery items, meat, seafood and prepared foods – categories that remain among the most complex for grocery retailers to manage due to their short shelf life, volatility and fragmented data streams. Through advanced daily forecasting and AI-driven recommendations, Ida’s platform helps store teams determine optimal order quantities and in-store production plans, enabling reductions in waste and improvements in availability and labor efficiency.

RELEX said the integration of Ida’s technology into its unified planning platform will provide retailers with a single planning environment that connects store operations with supply chain execution from supplier to shelf across all product categories. The deal is expected to broaden RELEX’s fresh category capabilities and support end-to-end optimization across fresh and traditional grocery segments.

“Fresh products have always been the hardest category to get right, where waste, availability and margin meet daily reality,” said Mikko Kärkkäinen, group CEO and co-founder of RELEX Solutions.

“By integrating Ida’s advanced fresh replenishment capabilities, we’re helping grocers act faster and smarter across every category. We warmly welcome the Ida team to RELEX.”

The combined capabilities will be branded within the RELEX platform as RELEX Fresh Store Ordering and will strengthen RELEX In-Store Production Planning, delivering enhanced tools for AI-based forecasting, automated recommendations, production planning modules for deli and prepared foods, upstream forecasting visibility and centralized performance dashboards.

“Joining RELEX is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to redefine how the world manages fresh food,” said Mateo Beacco, CEO and co-founder of Ida. “Together, we are creating the global standard for fresh optimization, reducing waste at scale, boosting availability and empowering every store team with AI that delivers measurable impact from day one.”

RELEX will host a webinar on Feb. 11, titled “Fresh Results for Profitable Store Operations,” to highlight the combined solution’s benefits and practical use cases for retailers.
