Natural Grocers has released its annual Top Trends for Living Well in 2026, offering a forecast of emerging consumer behaviors and product interests that are expected to influence health, wellness, food and sustainability in the year ahead.

The outlook reflects insights from the company’s Nutrition Education team along with its marketing and analytics professionals.

Now in its 10th year, the Top Trends report highlights a blend of research, consumer insights and hands-on expertise to provide what Natural Grocers calls a “practical, inspiring roadmap” for shoppers seeking healthier, more mindful and ecologically friendly choices in 2026.

Personalization and practical wellness take center stage

The forecast groups the 12 trends into four core categories: health and wellness, body care and beauty, food and beverage and ecologically thoughtful. Among the key themes, Natural Grocers said consumers will increasingly seek personalized guidance from nutrition experts over generic tools and algorithms. Other expected shifts include broader use of supplements like creatine beyond athletic performance and a focus on foundational nutrients that make optimizing health more accessible.

In body care, trends such as magnesium-based products for relaxation and recovery, and the pairing of vitamin E with jojoba oil for skin barrier health, are expected to gain traction, along with everyday self-care practices as essential components of routine wellness.

Food and eco-mindful choices

Food and beverage trends emphasize quality and affordability, with organic products continuing to serve as the gold standard for food quality. The report also anticipates a greater role for quality carbohydrates from vegetables in supporting long-term health and happiness, as well as healthier, budget-friendly meal options.

Eco-thoughtful trends include increased consumer attention on products and practices that benefit both personal health and the planet. Topics such as reducing individual environmental impact and supporting organic and regenerative agriculture as defenses against climate change are among the forecasted areas of interest.

The annual outlook also includes a Bonus Trend, emphasizing embracing cultural diversity as a part of overall wellness and well-being.

Natural Grocers plans to highlight the 2026 trend forecast across its digital platforms and in the January edition of its good4u Health Hotline magazine, available in both online and print formats.
