Kroger’s Atlanta Division opened a $34.5 million, 118,000-square-foot marketplace at 995 Loganville Hwy. in Bethlehem, Georgia.
The community attended the celebration, which featured the Apalachee High School Marching Band, JROTC cadets, school chorus, elected officials, community partners and Krogis the mascot.
“This is not just a capital investment; it is an investment in the community. At Kroger, our purpose is to feed the human spirit. This new Marketplace in Bethlehem demonstrates our dedication to being a trusted grocer, retailer and health care provider for the community,” said Victor Smith, president of Kroger’s Atlanta Division.
In keeping with Kroger’s commitment to building “Zero Hunger | Zero Waste” communities, Kroger contractors and partners recycled more than 95 percent of construction waste to prevent it from going into landfills.
The division recently opened a Marketplace store in Hoschton, Georgia, and broke ground on a new store in Locust Grove, Georgia, earlier this year.
The new Bethlehem Marketplace features Kroger’s popular departments, along with Starbucks, Murray’s Cheese, a culinary kiosk, Kitchen Place, grocery pickup, an adjacent fuel center and a pharmacy with a drive-thru.
The store also features a vibrant mural designed by University of Georgia Professor of Art Joseph Norman and the renowned Color the World Bright team.
The Kroger Co.’s Atlanta Division is made up of 27,000 employees across Georgia, Eastern Alabama and South Carolina.
