Phoenix, Arizona-based Sprouts Farmers Market plans to officially enter the New York grocery market Jan. 30 with a store opening at 1930 Middle Country Road in Centereach on Long Island.
Sprouts says it will offer “a shopping experience rooted in freshness, quality and wellness to the local community.”
The store also is creating 92 full- and part-time jobs. Prospective employees “should share a passion for healthy eating and the fresh, natural and organic products available throughout the store,” the grocer said.
Hiring events Dec. 9-10 looked to fill positions such as deli, grocery and meat/seafood clerks, department managers and assistant department managers.
Clerks for produce, bakery, vitamins and body care, as well as positions for cashiers, courtesy clerks, receiver, administrative coordinator and scan coordinator also were open to applicants.
Sprouts’ locations offer a farmers market-style layout featuring fresh produce at the center of the store. Attribute-driven products such as organic, plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free and keto are found throughout, as well as seasonal items.
Sprouts said it offers competitive pay, employee discounts, a “fun and rewarding”culture and career advancement opportunities. It has about 35,000 employees and operates more than 450 stores in 24 states nationwide.
