Phoenix, Arizona-based Sprouts Farmers Market plans to officially enter the New York State grocery market at the end of January with a store opening on Long Island.
The store at 1930 Middle Country Rd. in the town of Centereach will open Jan. 30.
Sprouts says it will offer “a shopping experience rooted in freshness, quality and wellness to the local community.”
The store also is bringing 92 full- and part-time career opportunities to Long Island. Team members “should share a passion for healthy eating and the fresh, natural and organic products available throughout the store,” the grocer says.
Hiring events Dec. 9-10 looked to fill positions such as deli clerks, grocery clerks, meat/seafood clerks, department managers and assistant department managers. Clerks for produce, bakery, vitamins and body care as well as positions for cashiers, courtesy clerks, receiver, administrative coordinator and scan coordinator also were open to applicants.
Sprouts’ locations offer a farmers market-style layout featuring fresh produce at the center of the store. Attribute-driven products such as organic, plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free and keto are found across the store, as well as seasonal items.
Sprouts says it offers competitive pay, team member discounts, a “fun and rewarding”culture and career advancement opportunities.
The grocer employs approximately 35,000 team members and operates more than 450 stores in 24 states nationwide.
