Food City is continuing its support of the Annual Coats for Kids program sponsored by the Hamilton County Police Department and Fire Department with a check presentation to The Forgotten Child Fund totaling $2,500.

The Forgotten Child Fund is made up entirely of volunteers consisting of Chattanooga, Tennessee firefighters, Hamilton County EMS employees, Hamilton County sheriff’s employees and other volunteer organizations.

One hundred percent of the funds donated benefit its mission that no child be forgotten on Christmas Day. The organization has expanded its outreach by distributing toys to children affected by disasters year-round. It also coordinates a Coats for Kids program, distributing more than 5,000 coats annually in collaboration with different volunteer groups. Last year, The Forgotten Child Fund brought Christmas to more than 13,000 children.
