Big Y Foods Inc. has announced plans for a new store in Pembroke, Massachusetts, scheduled to open next spring or summer.
The 38,000-square-foot store will be located in Pembroke Plaza, 24 Mattakeesett St., in a space that was formerly a Stop & Shop. The location marks Big Y’s continued growth in eastern Massachusetts, where stores also are coming to Fairhaven and North Dartmouth.
“These three new stores represent a significant milestone in Big Y’s ongoing expansion into new towns throughout Massachusetts,” said Michael D’Amour, president and CEO of Big Y.
“We’re excited to become a part of new communities that we can serve and create welcoming spaces where customers feel at home.”
The company said additional details, including hiring opportunities and grand opening events, will be announced in the coming months.
