Fareway Meat & Grocery recently held a grand opening for its first full-service meat and grocery store in Kansas – a 21,000 square foot location at 15790 State Ave. in Basehor, Kansas.
“We are thrilled to open our doors in Basehor and continue growing in the great state of Kansas,” said Fareway CEO Reynolds Cramer.

The store features all the amenities Fareway customers have come to expect, including a full-service butcher counter with fresh, hand-cut meats and farm-fresh produce, as well as high-level customer service, including to-the-car carryout.
It also will offer FastLanes, a self-service checkout option and online shopping and curbside pick-up. A back-up generator will ensure operations continue without interruption should the store lose power.
At the heart of the market is an industrial-sized smoker, which will prepare specialty meats that reflect the flavors and culinary traditions of the Kansas City region.
The store will be led by Kris Erdman, grocery manager, and Chris Jorgenson, market manager.
The grand opening celebration included promotions, product samples, and the opportunity for customers to meet the Fareway team and explore the store’s offerings.
