Brookshire Grocery Co.’s (BGC) leaders and city officials gathered Nov. 12 for a grand-opening ceremony to commemorate the new FRESH by Brookshire’s store at 3121 N. Eastman Road in Longview, Texas.
“We are very excited to bring FRESH to the Longview community and to be celebrating the grand opening of this location after years of working towards this goal,” said Brad Brookshire, chairman and CEO for Brookshire Grocery Co.
“We’ve selected a great team, led by General Manager Sean Webb and Store Director Nick Marlow, to provide outstanding service for our guests. We’ve been operating in Longview for 86 years now and are very appreciative of our customers here. The gratitude received from the community for bringing FRESH to Longview has been tremendous, and we look forward to many years ahead serving our neighbors.”
To celebrate the updated store, BGC donated $4,000 to the Longview Police and Fire Departments. Additionally, BGC donated $2,000 to Operation True North, a faith-based organization in Longview that provides readily accessible counseling and trauma treatment for veterans, first responders, medical personnel and their families.
The 66,000-square-foot store features chef-prepared entrees, authentic sushi counter, a taqueria bar, freshly made pizza and sandwiches, an artisan bakery, full-service meat and seafood counter, charcuterie and cheese selections, fresh produce with a large variety of organics, a full-service floral shop, Starbucks, a fuel center, patio dining, outdoor grill and bar, live music and on-site park with children’s playground.
The store opened with a team of 250 employees, and the company offers professional development and comprehensive health benefit plans along with paid time off, stock ownership, a 401(k) retirement plan, incentives, educational scholarships and an emergency relief fund for employees.
Tyler, Texas-based BGC is a regional family-owned grocery business that employs more than 17,000 people throughout Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma. The company operates 220 stores under the Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, FRESH by Brookshire’s, Spring Market and Reasor’s and FRESH by Reasor’s banners, along with three distribution centers and a corporate office.
