Cingari Family Markets plans to expand its store at 1975 Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield, Connecticut, into the adjacent 13,000-square‑foot space formerly occupied by Party City.

This expansion will deliver an enhanced shopping experience, featuring:

  • Additional grocery aisles with expanded dry goods, international specialties and health‑focused products;
  • A larger bakery offering artisan breads, pastries and custom cakes;
  • An expanded floral department with a wider selection of fresh flowers and arrangements;
  • More grab‑and‑go options, including new heat‑and‑serve entrées, salad kits and snack bundles;
  • A larger international cheese section; and
  • Additional frozen food and dairy cases to accommodate more frozen entrées, sides, specialty desserts and dairy products.

Construction will begin this fall and is expected to be completed in spring 2026. The store will remain open throughout the renovation.

“We’re excited to provide our Fairfield neighbors the larger‑footprint store they deserve,” said Thomas Cingari Sr., president and CEO of Cingari Family Markets. “This expansion means more of the quality products, fresh bakery items and convenient meal solutions our customers love – all in one place.”

Cingari Family Markets, which operates 10 ShopRite stores and two Grade A Markets across southwestern Connecticut, is committed to enhancing the local shopping experience, supporting sustainable practices and giving back to the communities it serves.
