Food City held a grand opening Oct. 22 for a new 54,000-square-foot store on Highway 58 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The supermarket serves as a replacement for its predecessor, which was shuttered earlier this year to make way for its construction.

“We appreciate the support the residents of Chattanooga and Hamilton County have shown our company, and we’re excited to provide our loyal customers with a new state-of-the-art Food City to better serve their needs,” said Steven C. Smith, Food City president and CEO.
The location is equipped with a number of services, including an in-store bakery and deli, complete with a hot food bar, large café seating area, fireplace, Asian wok, fresh food bar offering a variety of soup, salad and fruit selections, pizza oven and fresh sushi.
Full-service meat and seafood departments offer high-quality meats, including Certified Angus Beef, and in-house butchers to hand cut steaks and fresh meat to order.
Expanded grocery, frozen food and produce departments also feature a selection of specialty, gourmet and vegan items. The Food City Floral Boutique, staffed with a designer seven days a week, offers a full assortment of fresh-cut floral arrangements, bouquets and gift items. Curbside pick-up and home delivery are available.
The store also includes a Food City Pharmacy with a drive-thru, Food City Gas N’ Go and Starbucks cafe.

The new location also features several award-winning energy-saving concepts, ranging from energy-efficient glass cooler doors, parking lot lights and refrigeration systems to motion sensors and 100-percent LED lighting.
“Our customers can expect to find the same top-quality products, low prices and friendly smiling faces they have some to expect from Food City, along with some exciting new services and conveniences,” Smith said.
