The Missouri Grocers Association (MGA) and the Retail Grocers Association of Greater Kansas City (RGA) have united to form the Midwest Retail and Grocery Alliance (MRGA).

The move strengthens the collective voice of the grocery and retail community across Missouri and Kansas, combining decades of experience, advocacy and service to better support independent grocers, retailers and suppliers throughout the region.

“By joining forces, we’re creating a stronger, more unified organization that can better serve our members and represent the industry at every level,” said Dan Shaul, executive state director of the Missouri Grocers Association.

“Together, we’re expanding resources, advocacy, and opportunities for growth.”

The MRGA will leverage the strengths of both associations to provide:

  • Expanded member programs and resources;
  • Stronger advocacy and legislative representation locally, statewide and in Washington, D.C.;
  • More networking and educational opportunities; and
  • Streamlined communication to ensure members stay connected and informed.

“Our shared mission has always been to help businesses succeed in an ever-changing marketplace,” added Jon McCormick, president and CEO of the Retail Grocers Association.

“As MRGA, we can do that more effectively – through unified leadership, combined expertise and a louder collective voice.”

Both MGA and RGA members will continue to receive their current benefits and maintain contacts. In the coming weeks, MRGA will launch a website and share information about upcoming events, expanded member programs and advocacy initiatives.
