Cleveland, Ohio-based Eagle Foods, the CPG company behind brands such as Hamburger Helper and Suddenly! (pasta sides), is marking a milestone as it celebrates its 10th anniversary.
The company was founded in 2015 by Kelso & Co. acquiring businesses from J.M. Smuckers, including Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk and Evaporated Milk, Magnolia Sweetened Condensed Milk, PET Milk and Milnot Evaporated Milk. In 2017, Eagle Foods expanded its platform with the addition of Popcorn Indiana and G.H. Cretors popcorn brands, followed by the 2022 acquisition of Hamburger Helper and Suddenly! from General Mills.
“From day one, we set out to grow by focusing on what matters most – brand innovation, consumer relevance, retailer partnerships and our people,” said Eagle Foods CEO Bernard Kreilmann.
“The success we’ve achieved in 10 years is testament to this approach, which will continue to position the company for category leadership and meaningful growth, far into the future.”
With a portfolio that spans popular brands in the pantry and snack aisles, Eagle Foods has driven strong growth in net sales and EBITDA and delivered growth to center store grocery. This growth is achieved by deploying a combination of core strategic elements, including:
- Highly selective portfolio investments, cherry-picking brands with both legacy and runway, and dedicating the time and attention needed to make them stronger;
- Commitment to innovation, investing in improving and expanding its brands such that they are embraced by an increasing number of households on more occasions; and
- Strengthening customer and consumer relationships through strong partnerships with retailers and communications with consumers.
By making calculated bets while leaning in to evolving consumer preferences, Eagle Foods has helped legacy brands, such as Hamburger Helper, to new relevance with double-digit sales growth in 2025. It has inspired a new generation of food explorers to create and share with Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk and also has turned snacks like Cretors into one of the fastest-growing brands in its category.
Eagle Foods held 10th anniversary celebrations in El Paso, Waukegan, Chicago and Cleveland, recognizing those who helped fuel the company’s success and highlighting its commitment to its workforce.
