DoorDash Kroger

The Kroger Co. has expanded its relationship with DoorDash to bring its full grocery assortment, including exclusive Our Brands products and everyday essentials, to customers.

Kroger has been one of the most searched and requested grocers on DoorDash. Beginning Oct. 1, customers can shop Kroger’s full grocery assortment across banners like Mariano’s, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, and Harris Teeter, all on DoorDash. Along with fast delivery, they will receive deals and loyalty program discounts integrated into the DoorDash app.

“Customers are looking for more convenient ways to shop at their local Kroger store, and delivery is an increasingly important way they engage with us. We want to provide customers what they want, how they want it, without asking them to compromise on value,” said Yael Cosset, EVP and chief digital officer for Kroger.

“Today marks another step in our journey to simplify customers’ lives. We are bringing our high-quality, fresh, full grocery assortment to new customers. We are making it easier to shop in the way that best fits their day. And we are offering lower prices and more relevant offers to drive more traffic, which increases the data we use to power our retail media business.”

Kroger will reach new customers and serve new occasions through its launch on the DoorDash Marketplace. The companies will also collaborate on joint innovation, beginning with retail media, insights for brand partners and new delivery models that leverage Kroger’s store network and DoorDash’s technology to help brands grow and engage customers in more relevant ways.

DoorDash launched on-demand grocery delivery in 2020. Since then, DoorDash has continued to provide grocers with tools and technology to reach new and returning shoppers across multiple channels. In Q2, more than 25 percent of DoorDash’s global monthly active users ordered from new verticals, including grocery, and more consumers in the U.S. ordered groceries through DoorDash than before.

“With Kroger now on DoorDash nationwide, millions of customers can shop the largest grocer on our platform with the convenience of on-demand delivery,” said Prabir Adarkar, president and chief operating officer of DoorDash.

“This expansion brings customers access to Kroger’s full assortment across fresh food, household essentials, and its popular private-label brands, all at affordable prices and deals they already know and trust. It’s a milestone that reflects our shared commitment to giving households more choice, value and convenience in how they shop for groceries.”
