Tops Friendly Markets has announced a combined $4.4 million investment in remodeling two of its stores – Fayetteville and Manlius, New York.
During ribbon-cutting celebrations Oct. 1, Tops will present donations to local community nonprofits that impact first responders, schools, food pantries and veteran organizations.
“We’re proud to invest in these remodels that will bring an updated, more convenient, and enjoyable shopping experience to our customers,” said Ron Ferri, president, Tops Friendly Markets. “These enhancements are designed with our shoppers in mind, offering more fresh food options, time-saving amenities, and a more modern environment overall.”
In addition, Tops will be celebrating throughout its 15 Syracuse locations with prizes and weekly deals. Shoppers will have a chance to win $1,000 in Tops gift cards, Syracuse football and basketball items, a 1911 Fat Tire Bike and Beak & Skiff prize pack.
Highlights of the remodels include:
- Fresh, modern enhanced interior décor and paint;
- All-new flooring throughout;
- Installation of new user-friendly self-checkouts;
- Renovated restrooms;
- Upgraded LED lighting to enhance energy efficiency and visibility;
- Expanded deli and carry out café featuring Boar’s Head, fresh sushi, a Marketplace Deli and meals to-go;
- Refreshed bakery department with expanded frozen selections, new cake and donut fixtures, and a new bread wall;
- Dedicated healthy hydration set;
- New shopping carts; and
- New health and natural organics offerings.
Enhanced store features:
- Online services: Fast grocery pickup, delivery, and catering through partnerships with Instacart and now DoorDash.
- Flashfood app: Save up to 60 percent on fresh items like produce, meat, deli, bakery and dairy while helping reduce food waste. (Fayetteville only)
“At Tops, we continuously evaluate how to best serve our customers and reinvest in our communities. These enhancements help make shopping more convenient, affordable, and enjoyable,” said Rich Hill, district manager.
The locations will feature in-store butchers cutting 100 percent USDA Choice premium beef daily, fresh produce sourced from more than 500 local growers and dairy farmers, including locally-sourced products from Reeves and Smith Family Farms.
Customers will find expanded grab-and-go meals, including rotisserie and fried chicken, fresh prepared salads, signature breakfast pizza and made-to-order subs.
