Ahold Delhaize USA hosted its annual Fall Day of Service on Sept. 19, where associates across seven states participated in a bi-annual service day aimed at reducing food insecurity in local communities.

“Each year, our Fall Day of Service reminds us of the power of coming together to make a meaningful difference,” said Christy Phillips-Brown, VP of communications at Ahold Delhaize USA.

“We thank our associates who rolled up their sleeves to support our neighbors in need and advance our shared purpose to reduce food insecurity across local communities.”

More than 500 employees took part in nearly 40 different volunteer opportunities, ranging from soup kitchen service and food pantry support to community gardening and more. The events included:

  • Carlisle, Pennsylvania: In collaboration with Harrisburg Area Food Bank, New Hope Ministries and The Salvation Army, employees supported food pantry and warehouse operations. A team also worked in the community garden at The Bridge Eco-Village.
