Detwiler’s Farm Market will open a new warehouse and distribution center Sept. 29 at Florida International Tradeport in Palmetto, Florida.
Spanning nearly one mile along Interstate-75 at the U.S. 301 interchange, the tradeport is a 2 million-square-foot industrial park.
Detwiler’s 133,000-square-foot facility will serve as the hub for the family-owned grocery chain’s six grocery stores, creating jobs, strengthening local supply chains and giving it the capacity for future growth. It also ensures the company can continue living up to its motto, “Eat Fresh for Less.”

“This facility represents an important investment into our community,” said Sam Detwiler, president of Detwiler’s Farm Market. “By bringing our operations under one roof, we can operate more efficiently, create more jobs and pass along even better pricing to our customers.”
Founder Henry Detwiler Sr. added, “From our start in a small roadside tent [in 2002] to where we are today, it’s been incredible to see how this community has supported us. This distribution center allows us to give back – by creating opportunities for local families and making sure we provide fresh food at a fair price for years to come.”
The company has built a following across Florida’s Sarasota and Manatee counties thanks to its fresh local produce, quality deli, bakery, seafood, meat, natural grocery and wellness departments. Its most recent store opened in December 2023 in Bradenton, Florida.
