Publix Super Markets opened a new store at 6900 Daniels Pkwy. in Daniels Crossing in Fort Myers, Florida, on Sept. 11.
“As we open our doors today, we do so with deep respect and gratitude for the heroes in our community and beyond,” said Lindsey Willis, Publix media relations manager. “This day holds profound meaning, and we’re honored to begin serving our neighbors while also recognizing the sacrifices of our first responders.”
To honor the significance of the day, first responders from across the area joined the company for the grand-opening ceremony. Following the ribbon cutting, the Publix Good Together Truck delivered meals to Ft. Myers first responders as part of Publix’s ongoing commitment to support those who serve and protect.
The 48,387 square-foot store features traditional Publix departments, such as:
- Deli – a full-service counter with a variety of meats and cheeses, an international selection of olives, antipastos, hummus and more than 200 artisan cheeses from the United States and around the world.
- Produce – organic and conventionally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables, with locally-grown produce and exotic choices from around the world. The floral department stocks seasonal bouquets.
- Scratch bakery – with an array of cakes, cookies and pies as well as wedding cakes and decadent desserts made by skilled decorators. Breads and rolls are baked fresh throughout the day.
- Meat – custom cuts of meats, including Publix private label all-natural and organic GreenWise chicken. Customers seeking a home-cooked meal with minimal prep time can choose from ready-to-cook items prepared fresh daily.
- Seafood – fresh seafood delivered throughout the week. It includes wild and farm-raised fish, as well as a wide variety of shellfish. Publix’s whole fish and fillets are fresh, never frozen. Sushi chefs create hand-rolled selections daily.
- Wine – offering an expanded variety of premium and specialty wines from the United States and around the world, along with a large selection of champagnes and sparkling wines. The selection also includes fine wines made with organic grapes.
- Pharmacy – full-service pharmacy with drive-thru that also includes a variety of body care products and selection of natural and conventional vitamins, minerals and supplements.
The Ft. Myers store also features a seating area for customers to stop and enjoy their Publix favorite finds, along with an adjacent Publix Liquors.
Publix provides contactless pay options and services like grocery delivery through Instacart and pharmacy delivery.
